Middle Grades Movie Book Club

Middle Grades Movie Book Club

Those who call, email or stop by the library by Sat. Jan 30 to register for the book club will receive a free copy of the novel.

Newbery Honor book, The Great Gilly Hopkins, is coming to the big screen on Feb. 19!

Gilly has been in the foster care system for many years, and prides herself on being a troublemaker. Will she be able to settle into a new, somewhat quirky, foster family, or will she finally be reunited with her birth mother? How will the movie version compare to the book?

Join us to find out!

Participants will be able to read the book and see the movie on their own timetable. We will meet on Mon. Mar. 14 at 4:30 pm for refreshments and to discuss both versions. Recommended for ages 11+. Includes mild profanity. Lexile: 800L
